“MUKU desk clock / zelkova”, designed by Lemnos Design Group
Released August 2, 2022
The MUKU desk clock, which has been well-received since its release in 2012, is now available in zelkova wood. The zelkova wood is made from scraps generated in the clock frame manufacturing process.
By carving a large round shape out of the back of the clock that makes you want to pick it up, a three-dimensional curve appears at the opening, giving it a softer form. The numerical indicators are burnt by branding instead of “colored” as in printing. The shading of the burnt surface and the indentations created by the branding process are unique. Together with the expression of the wood grain, they create a graceful product, no two of which are identical.
