DEAR VERA

DEAR VERA II
Designed by Shigeru Uchida
The Hotel Il Palazzo debuted in Fukuoka in 1989 as a pioneering designer hotel. This landmark was directed by Shigeru Uchida, who also designed its interior, with the architecture being designed by Aldo Rossi, one of the most iconic architects of the 20th century. Uchida designed the table clock DEAR VERA with a form similar to the hall clock DEAR MORRIS, which he created around the same time for this hotel.
Named after Rossi’s daughter, Vera reflects Uchida’s deep respect for the famous architect.
Originally sold under Uchida’s private brand, Chairs, the clock was later produced by the renowned Italian design brand, ALESSI. This newly crafted DEAR VERA is a reissue under the Chairs brand and features a dial based on the ALESSI edition.
